Are you interested in the life found along the rocky shores of the Berwickshire coast? Would you like to learn more about the techniques used to monitor biodiversity? This workshop will take you through the steps taken when completing an intertidal survey. Currently, BMR aims to complete 12 survey sessions, totalling 36 surveys a year. This is only possible with the help of amazing volunteers. Through this workshop (and workshops in the near future) we hope to increase volunteer numbers and hopefully add an additional monitoring site. Come along and give it a go, no experience or ID skills are required!
We will meet at Eyemouth Hippodrome to collect equipment and then head down to Eyemouth Beach.
Due to the nature of the work, there is a minimum age requirement of 14 and volunteers must be physically fit to work in and around rockpools.
Please note we will be looking in and around rockpools, wellies are strongly advised, however, waterproof walking boots are also suitable. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
