About this Event
“The question isn’t whether interspecies communication will transform our world—it is already beginning to. The question is whether we’ll be ready to listen when other species finally have legal standing to speak.”
— Kate Armstrong, Interspecies Internet Director
The Interspecies Internet (IIO) is a global convening body that brings together researchers, organizations, and innovators working at the intersection of tech, ethics, and animal communication. In this presentation, Carolina Almeida will introduce the IIO community and how it serves as the connective tissue for this field.
You’ll get an overview of the major players in our network, the historical context, and the collaborations shaping the field.
More importantly, you’ll leave with a sense of the state-of-the-art: Where is this field right now? What are the big questions emerging around ethics, technology, and our relationship with other species? And what role does the Interspecies Internet play in bringing it all together?
This is your entry point into a field that’s rapidly evolving and fundamentally changing how we think about intelligence, communication, and our place among other living beings.
