About this Event
As a program of PHSA, Provincial Language Services is committed to providing equitable language access services for people accessing health care across B.C. Our mission is to enhance equity for Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing patients and clients. This alignment fosters improved care and health outcomes and enhances interpreting productivity and efficiency.
Over the years, the B.C. health care interpreting landscape has seen significant shifts. If you are a medical interpreter in B.C., we want to hear from you. Join us for our interpreter engagement session to discuss trends and shifts in the landscape and to help us improve our service for the Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing community in B.C.
In this session, you will:
- Learn about Provincial Language Services
- Explore health care interpreting medical screening.
- Understand the importance of interpreters' voices in shaping health care.
Join the session virtually or in-person at 1795 Willingdon Ave, Burnaby, B.C. Please register your spot by April 12th.
