Das Western Genre hat wie jedes Genre Kino seine eindeutig spezifischen Features: die unendlich weite Prärie, gedreht in den USA, im ehemaligen Jugoslawien oder in der Puszta zwischen Österreich und Ungarn, Pferde, Sattel, verzierte Stiefel, Stetson Hüte, Sheriffsterne, jede Menge Waffen, Saloons, Pokerrunden, Planwagen, Native Americans, die oft von Weißen dargestellt sind, Phantasie-Sprachen sprechen und gerne ihre Feinde skalpieren und vieles mehr. Das wichtigste Feature ist der Shoot-Out am Ende des Films, das Duell. Es impliziert gnadenlos, dass jeder Konflikt ausschließlich durch Gewalt zu lösen ist und es nur einen Sieger geben kann. Das Anti-Western Kurzfilmprogramm spielt filmisch kreativ mit diesen Western Merkmalen, dekonstruiert sie, baut sie neu zusammen ohne sie dabei auszulassen.

The Western genre, like every other genre of cinema, has its distinctive features: the endless prairie, filmed in the USA, the former Yugoslavia, or the Puszta between Austria and Hungary; horses, saddles, decorated boots, Stetson hats, sheriff's badges, plenty of weapons, saloons, poker games, covered wagons, Native Americans, often portrayed by white people, who speak imaginary languages and enjoy scalping their enemies, and much more. The most important feature is the shootout at the end of the film, the duel. It mercilessly implies that every conflict can be resolved exclusively through violence and that there can be only one winner. The anti-Western short film program creatively plays with these Western characteristics, deconstructing them, reconstructing them, without omitting them.
