Switchback Women were at the IMBA Uprising when this day was born and we're so excited to share it with our friends again!Please join us for a free, fun women's only ride to celebrate the 6th annual IMBA International Women's Mountain Bike Day.
We will greet you at the lower lot at Turkey Mountain at 9, sign waivers, assess rider levels, and give gals an opportunity to participate in a short interview.
We'll break into different groups if needed. Prepare for a 1-1.5 hourish long ride, depending on rider level, and no rider will be dropped!
This year's theme is "How do you earn your turns." While traditionally associated with the climb back up to the top of a downhill run, IMBA is challenging us to a different approach: one that acknowledges all the barriers - (perceived, experiences, enforced) that make it challenging for people to spend time on their bikes, and celebrate the ways in which women overcome, dismantle, and adapt around them, over them and straight through them to ride their mountain bikes.
Women, please join us! Fellas, sorry this one isn't for you, but the Switchback guys will be around to ride with if you're looking for pals!
