The Comox Valley Transition Society in collaboration with DJ Exclamation Heart, invites you to join us for a powerful celebration of International Women’s Day. This is a gathering for women, including transgender women, and gender non-conforming folks. We ask that men who feel called, hold space for International Women’s Day in their own unique way, by not participating in person. Perhaps light a candle to honour the sacred gatherings of women from different lineages, that have taken place since the beginning of time - and hold space for us as we navigate a world that is questioning our human rights.
What is Sacred Rage? Sacred Feminine Rage is a call to action, rooted in heart-centered energy that honours our fight and innate rights, to bodily autonomy. It is the refusal to accept injustice, oppression, and outdated systems wishing to oppress us. This is achieved without violence and the feminine wisdom of taking action without weapons. This is a gathering to honour our ancestors' fight for our rights and acknowledge the battles that continue today.
Without judgment, and only if you feel called, you are invited to unleash pent up feelings of injustice, oppression, and anger due to unwarranted violence that women continue to face - in a safe and affirming space. We will COURAGEOUSLY state that we will not allow our rights to be taken away, by gathering, advocating, and dancing for all women, near and far. We will embrace our Sacred Rage with grace, empower our shadows, and the “not so feminine” aspects that we often set aside, due to patriarchal programming to act “lady-like.”
Sacred Rage is a channeled force to embody change, action, and asserts the need for greater love, equality, and truth in the world. Honoring this rage, rather than suppressing it, allows for the integration of suppressed parts of the self, leading to profound healing and self-awareness..
What to Expect:
Elder Welcome
Guest speakers and group activity. Details to be announced soon!
DJ Exclamation HeART will then guide us through a dance meant to invoke our shadows with pride and unleash our wild side. You will be encouraged to shake what your mama gave you and release all that no longer serves you! Expect raw beats to unleash your inner beast and invite collective screams! We will let go of feminine expectations and let loose raw expressions of rage - in whatever way feels safe. There is no pressure to take it this far - tune into whatever feels good and listen to how your body is guiding you.
Her set has been inspired by the emerging Women-only nightclubs around the world that house spaces for female, trans, and nonbinary individuals to enjoy nightlife without male attention. Her set will start off wild and raw but the end will transition back into a soft feminine flow. A short closing circle will take place to honour the space and everyone that participated in the day.

Around the world, women’s rights are being challenged, rolled back, and fought over - from the loss of abortion access and the criminalization of pregnancy in parts of the United States, to the forced removal of women from public life under the Taliban in Afghanistan. The crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people continues across Canada and beyond, rooted in colonial violence, systemic racism, and neglect. At the same time, trans and gender-diverse people are being targeted through laws that restrict healthcare, safety, and participation in public life. These struggles are not isolated - they are connected by systems that seek to control bodies, identities, and voices. International Women’s Day is a call to come together in solidarity, to protect one another, honour those we’ve lost, amplify marginalized voices, and insist on dignity, autonomy, safety, and justice for all. When we gather, we remember that collective care, resistance, and joy are powerful acts of resilience and change.
