Join us on Saturday, 6 December, as we celebrate International Volunteer Day with a festive Christmas-themed lunch to recognise and thank our incredible volunteers. Sponsored by the Department of Communities, the event will feature delicious food, cheerful decorations, and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere filled with Christmas spirit and most definitely a raffle or two!Guests can look forward to a 2-course meal, volunteer acknowledgements, and an opportunity to connect and reflect on the positive impact our volunteers have made throughout the year. It’s set to be a joyful afternoon of gratitude, celebration, and community connection. We will also enjoy a short presentation by guest speaker and shed supporter, Karen Haddon of Befriend.
What: 2-course meal (main & dessert). Your choice of main:
- Roast pumpkin salad with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, feta, cranberries, cucumber & balsamic vinegarette (vegan, gluten reduced)
- Fish & chips, single fin battered snapper, chips, house salad, lemon & tartare
- Chicken schnitzel with house salad, chips & mushroom sauce
- Festive Turkey & Ham roast with roasted vegetables, buttered baby beans, cranberry sauce & gravy.
Plus your choice of tasty dessert:
- Sticky date pudding with fireball butterscotch sauce & il gelato gingernut gelato
- Fairybread Gelato Sundae with fairybread gelato, cream, dollop cream & vanilla cake crumbles
- Cake from the cabinet (choose your flavour on arrival)
When: Saturday 6th December, 12:30pm-4pm
Where: The Sunset Room - Brooklands Tavern, 7 Holmes Road, Southern River
Who: Open event, non-members welcome.

Price: GWC Members $20, Non-members $43
Catering: Drinks are available for purchase at the bar. Strictly no BYO.
Parking: Free parking is available at the venue.
