About this Event
International Social Work Day — a global moment to honour the impact, dedication, and values of the social work profession.
This year’s theme, “Co‑Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society,” reminds us of the power of unity, collective effort, and shared responsibility in shaping stronger, more connected communities. It is inspired by the African concept of Harambee, meaning “pulling together”, and highlights the vital role social work plays in bringing people together across cultures, systems, and sectors. This event is a celebration — a chance for us to shine a light on the incredible work taking place across children’s services. Together, we will:
✨ Showcase good practice from across the workforce
🤝 Highlight partnership working that strengthens outcomes for children and families
🌍 Recognise the values, creativity and resilience at the heart of social work
💬 Create space for reflection, connection and shared learning
We warmly invite colleagues from all areas of Children’s Services — social care, early help, education, youth services, health partners, commissioning, safeguarding, SEND, and all who contribute to the wellbeing of children and families.
Come and celebrate the profession, connect with others, and be part of a collective call to co‑build hope and harmony in our communities.
