Every year, May is Museums month and 18 May is International Museums Day.International Museums Day 2024 (#IMD2024) will raise awareness about museums as an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples. We invite Londoners to think outside-the-box with tools form our collection. The RCRM has partnered with My Sister’s Place, a local agency supporting women, in favour of a more conscious, sustainable and inclusive world.
Excess material de-accessioned from the museum collection was made available for this inventive group who found a way to re-purpose old military jackets, pants, and other clothing items. On Saturday, 18 May 2024, they will present their work in the museum multi-purpose room for three hours.
In addition, there will be a short sewing activity.
This is a drop in program, registration not required.
