BAAWA proudly presents the first cultural celebration of 2026:🌍 International Mother Language Day
Join us as we observe the spirit of Ekushe February and commemorate the Language Martyrs of 1952. Together let's honor the beauty of linguistic diversity and our mother tongues—the languages that give meaning to our lives and build bridges across cultures.
✅ Free Community Event | Open to Everyone
✨ What to Expect:
📚 Book Exhibition & Writers' Meet & Greet where you can meet our Authors, buy books and get autographs.
🎶 An evening of songs, dances, and recitations performed by our talented local Bangladeshi artists and 2nd generation children (a proud moment for all parents).
🌏 A vibrant multicultural showcase, celebrating multiculturalism and multilingualism, featuring performances by artists from Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, India, China, and Indonesia.
We must remember that our existence as Bangladeshis is the outcome of long-fought battles that began in 1952 with the Language Movement. Let this be an evening to remember—where we come together as a community and encourage our children to celebrate our languages and our cultures, honoring the legacy of those who gave their lives so we could speak our mother tongue with pride.
