Represent your country and join our multi-cultural celebration to mark UNESCO Mother Language Day here on the Isle of Man! Our family friendly celebration aims to bring together as many languages and cultures as possible for a fun day and the opportunity to learn some easy Manx!
Here are some ideas for joining in - but you may have your own! (Kitchen facilities, screen and projector are all available - we can provide everything you need.)
* Host a display table with photos /posters /art /music /writing /flags /quiz
* Wear traditional dress
* Share music & song - in person or on screen
* Exchange phrases and greetings and play word games
* Talk about some special traditions from your native country
* Bring or talk about traditional food from your country
* Share a story or folklore from your country
* Join in with some organised Manx language games and songs
* Learn some easy Manx words and phrases
* Learn a simple Manx dance
* Find out more about the Year of Manx Language
* Discover information from Cafe Lingo and the One World Centre
Attendance is FREE and we can cover any pre-agreed expenses to help you bring your language to life! Most importantly, we would just like you to come and be part of this unique celebration!
