To mark International Men’s Day, Health on the High Street is hosting a dedicated Men’s Health Day at Unit 33, Friars Square Shopping Centre, HP20 2QF, on Wednesday 19th November 2025. The event will run from 10:00 to 14:00 and welcomes all men to drop in at their convenience for a range of free health checks, support, and information.International Men’s Health Day UK highlights concerning national statistics: around 12,000 men die from prostate cancer each year in the UK, one in five UK men do not reach the age of 65, and 14 men tragically lose their lives to suicide every day. The event in Aylesbury aims to provide vital support and raise awareness of men’s health issues within the local community.
Ann Poll, Service Manager Health on the High Street, said: “Our event is a collaboration between community health, mental health, and social organisations, aiming to empower men to take charge of their health and wellbeing. We are saying to them “Pop in. Get checked. Feel better.”
Visitors to the Men’s Health Day can expect access to the following services:
- Be Healthy Bucks: NHS Health Checks (for men aged 40-74, eligibility criteria apply) including blood pressure, BMI, cholesterol, and diabetes risk assessments
- Free use of Pump it Up Kiosk: On-the-spot blood pressure monitoring
- MIND: Mental health signposting and advice
- SAM: Support for male survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse
- MacMillan Cancer Team: Guidance on cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Hectors House: Suicide prevention advice and support for men
- BROOK: Sexual health and wellbeing advice
- Aylesbury and Chiltern Prostate Cancer Charity: Information and support
- Diabetes UK: Expert advice and information
- DWP: Employment advisory services
- Aylesbury Community Workshops: Local community information
- Alcoholics Anonymous (AA): Support and advice on alcohol issues
