2 Dandelions Bookshop is joining over 32 million people in 190+ countries who have celebrated International Dot Day, a global movement that encourages kids and grown-up kids to “make their mark” and celebrate creativity, bravery, and self-expression.Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ best-selling picture book The Dot, International Dot Day began in 2009 when Terry Shay, a teacher and his students in Iowa, decided to celebrate the book’s themes about creativity. Since then, Dot Day has become a worldwide celebration of the power of creativity to move the world to a better place.
We will be reading The Dot and then creating a collaborative, community art project, as well as making dots to take home. Readers of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend this annual celebration of International Dot Day!
