A celebration of International Day of Disabled People
About this Event

This is a celebration of International Day of Disabled People jointly organised by Manchester City Council, Manchester Libraries and Manchester Metropolitan University.

12 - 4pm

Refreshments and light bites will be served.

The event includes a number of attractions


12-1pm

• Venture Arts Hands-on Workshop

1-4pm

• screening of disability history films followed by a panel discussion,

• the Lord Mayor,

• Professor Sara Ryan, mother of Connor Sparrowhawk,

• music by the Spotlighters,

• Young Creatives from GMCDP,

• Disabled People’s Archive.


Representatives of Disabled People’s Organisations and local heritage bodies will also be there.

Live BSL interpretation throughout.


This is part of the range of events that have been organised for Disability History Month. These events are part of a collaboration with Manchester City Council, Manchester Libraries, and Manchester Metropolitan University.
