About this Event
A chance to hear in person or on zoom from international creatives. Here in Newport.
Abed Abusrour is the founder of Alrowwad Cultural And Arts Society in Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem. https://www.alrowwad.org/en/ and Melissa Scott of Friends of Alrowwad UK will be attending. The event is hosted by PSC Newport and supported by The Place.
This is a free networking event for local creatives and a chance to hear about creative practitioners from Bethlehem that are seeking collaborations across the globe. Abed's UK visit includes making links with cultural and artistic centres, theatres, and people who can be supportive of their music school and cinema school and theatre and dance programs, possibly leading to co-productions and co-performances in different locations. There is also an idea of workshops and training at Alrowwad by Welsh artists and exchange visits from Palestine to Wales as well as tours.
This will be his first visit of this kind to Wales. Abed talks of 'Beautiful Resistance' and global collaboration.
The Place is a Newport-based community and arts venue based 2 minutes from the train station. There are 30 spaces only for this event. If you can not attend please either message this page email below.
