Internation Day of Peace Festival: Shining a Light of Peace
Come join us at the Hillcrest Community Center for a day filled with music, art, and unity! Our festival celebrates peace and harmony among all cultures and backgrounds. Let's come together to spread love and positivity in our community. Enjoy live performances, interactive workshops, meditations, and art projects. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of something truly special. This is the first of what will be an annual event to encourage and foster peace in our community.
The Festival is a multi-faith / organization celebration of peace and our commitment to join together to address the needs and challenges facing our community. The Festival will feature tables / displays by community and faith peace and justice organizations; musical groups; story telling; poetry; workshops; and arts and other activities for all age group.
Performances by:
David Basse, national acclaim Jazz vocalist, who has taken the torch from KC Jazz pioneers, & Friends;
Amado Espinoza, master of the music of the Andes, and of over 40 instruments, including the Bolivian charango, the Egyptian doumbek, and native flutes from all over the world.
