Intermittent Motion - A filmmaking and textiles workshop looking at the filamental small parts that makeup the big stuff.

The technology of the film camera and the sewing machine are inextricably linked in the technology from which they arose – that of intermittent motion.

In keeping with this theme, the ‘stop/start’ rhythm of this day long workshop will give participants an opportunity to explore local plants and flowers, print, stitch and some filmmaking techniques to make a short visual poem. The resulting film poem will be screened at the end of the day in the cinema space. This is a workshop with the focus on doing and making.
