Cost: M: $190 NM: $210 (includes material and firing fee)

Instructor: Laura Hewson

In this class we will go through the steps to create a uniform set of four drinking cups, learning the tricks and tips production potters implement to create consistency in height and weight. The first two classes will be dedicated to throwing on the potter’s wheel, with a third class focused on trimming. The final class will introduce participants to dip glazing to create consistent results across your finished set. 

About the Instructor: Laura Hewson is a small business owner, a potter, and a visual designer currently living in Burlington. Originally from Toronto, Laura has worked on a number of creatively focused projects, including the design and development of a small boutique clothing line, visual design and merchandising for a women's wear business, and most recently practicing pottery and ceramics out of the Art Gallery of Burlington’s ceramics studio. 

ART SUPPLIES: Adult students must supply their own materials based on course outline or purchased from the instructor if indicated.

ATTIRE: Please dress in clothing that reflects the nature of the activity. Your clothing may get messy from the materials and mediums utilized in your class. Also, closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
