Each student will be assigned their OWN horse for the week, to care for and ride!
Participants must have some riding experience (as in attended a camp previously, or taken at least 3 months of riding lessons.)
Campers must: 1. Be able to safely catch a horse on their own.
2. Be able to saddle a horse on their own.
3. Trot without stirrups, and Canter/Lope
To try out for camp, some applicants might be required to take an evaluation lesson before they are allowed to sign up for camp. This helps ensure that all campers are able to safely participate in our activities.
Silver Wind's horseback riding camps are a wonderful way to learn about horses and make new friends!
Silver Wind Stables is located in Edmond on 750 acres at the beautiful Windy Meadow Farm. Campers will be assigned a horse for the week, or can ride their own, and will learn how to care for and ride their horse. The camp is completely equestrian focused, with activities designed to increase knowledge and confidence around horses. Students will be able to explore both English and Western styles of riding on our friendly, well trained equines. We will also trail ride across the ranch, play games on horseback, and enjoy visits from veterinarians, farriers, and other educational guests.
