Join our students for intergenerational Reminiscence Theatre project
WHAT IS IT?
A collaboration between IGL@MGS and the wider community, designed to bring together students from MGS, the Millennia Institute, and seniors for 20 drama-based sessions. You will foster meaningful connections on this platform whereon sharing of life stories and unique lived experiences happen.
YOU DO NOT NEED PRIOR PERFORMANCE OR DRAMA SKILLS TO JOIN. All seniors aged 55+ welcomed.
WHY PARTICIPATE?
- Build meaningful relationships with seniors in our community
- Share your story and listen to that shared by your peers and seniors
- Contribute to a culminating performance
Each week, we dive into topics of relevance, engage in fun activities, and enjoy a supportive environment of candor. There’s no pressure to share perfect stories; it's all about exploring, connecting, and expressing yourself freely.
SCHEDULE
Do note that we strongly encourage you to attend all sessions for the best experience.
- July: 20, and 27
- August: 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31
- September: 7, 14, 21, and 28
- October: 5, 12, 19, and 26
- November: 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30

About Intergenerational Learning @ MGS
MGS aims to strengthen social empathy and civic consciousness through intergenerational Learning (IGL). The IGL learning model in MGS uses a value exchange model (asset-based design) with opportunities for meaningful contributions and personal development for both seniors and youths. It aims to humanise and value each child and each senior as assets and people of worth.
Seniors and students from all parts of Singapore can choose to volunteer with- and collaborate-with each other to learn and to initiate projects together. We will also want to invite seniors and youths to initiate IGL courses.
IGL at MGS aims to promote lifelong learning and intergenerational understanding. These are some areas of possible IGL learning for seniors and youths.
