Lynn Modell is a dancer/choreographer/teacher known for deft use of humor which imbues both her teaching and choreography. She taught dance technique and choreography at Brookline High School for almost three decades, serving the last 13 years as Chair of the Performing Arts Department. Lynn has received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award at Brookline High School and the Dance Educator of the Year award from the Massachusetts Association of Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. She founded Lynn Modell/Making Dances in 2015 to create accessible works for everyone, including people who say they 'can't understand' modern dance. Her pieces often portray humorous moments of everyday life we can all recognize, perhaps even changing our point of view. That might include challenging the status quo, the frustrations of dating . . . or trying to look cool in a disco even when that's obviously a lost cause!
