EdSign is pleased to welcome Robert Skinner and Estelle Clayton to present on their ongoing INTERACT project. This study explores whether changes in how the police and public are interacting, foster trust and make police interactions fairer. The study seeks to find out how deaf individuals feel about these new ways of contacting the police, looking at technologies specifically intended for deaf people and technologies aimed at the general public. Their research explores questions that touch on trust, accessibility, visibility in the digital age, and how it feels to communicate in these new ways, with the aim of discovering better ways for police to use technology while keeping interactions fair and respectful.
Deaf Action are generously hosting this event in their Blackwood bar, and those attending in person are invited to linger on for discussions and socialising.
This event will be interpreted and livestreamed.
