Integrating pregnant students into your yoga classes
STUDIO Teacher Training workshop on integrating pregnant students in to your yoga classes
About this Event
STUDIO | Integrating pregnant students into your yoga classes
This is a wonderful, insightful, informative session to educate yoga teachers, and yoga teacher trainees about yoga during pregnancy; what to do, what to not do, how to confidently modify your classes, and much more.

This session has been designed for yoga teachers and teachers in training to welcome pregnant students in to their Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Restorative or Yin based classes; being able to teach pregnant students with confidence, yet without negatively affecting the class experience for the non-pregnant students.

Plus, everything we learn from Rachel will be straight in to practice with our pregnancy yoga practice led by Rachel, wrapping up with a divine long Savasana and time for any questions.

What we'll cover:

  1. An introduction to the changes pregnancy brings to the body
  2. Safety considerations for each trimester
  3. Effective use of props for pregnant students
  4. The benefits of yoga in pregnancy and what we can do to support pregnant students
  5. How to keep the class flowing for pregnant, and non-pregnant students
  6. What to do if you're not sure
  7. A guide to paperwork, including health forms and disclaimers
  8. How to promote your classes inviting pregnant students
  9. Confidently modifying common asanas and sequences for each trimester

Who this workshop is for:

  1. Yoga teachers in training
  2. New yoga teachers
  3. Experienced yoga teachers looking to revisit best practices

Expect to leave feeling confident, inspired and excited to include pregnant students in your yoga classes!

About Rachel

Rachel has been teaching yoga since 2012. She originally studied yoga as a tool to her own healing and to regain control of her health. In 2008, a lifetime of stress and culminated in an autoimmune condition that prevented her from moving at all, and it was from here that she really began to study the practice of yoga (which had been in her life for some time)

She originally trained in London on a course called “The Embodied Dancer” which was a 300-hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training which focussed on the therapeutic benefits of yoga for dancers. Since then, her fascination with the mind, body and soul connection has led her towards studying and teaching many other therapeutic styles of yoga, including, Well-Woman Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Mum and Baby Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Yin Yoga.

Rachel loves nothing more than to help people to connect to themselves and find their own path to healing and wellness from within. On your teacher training course Rachel will be leading sessions around helping students to intuitively find movement to benefit their own bodies and suit their own needs at any particular time. She will focus on how to lead students to lead themselves and how to apply some of the therapeutic benefits of yoga within your classes..
