Intarsia is a knitting technique to create large, distinct blocks of colour or even images within a knitted fabric, by using separate bobbins or balls of yarn for each colour section. Unlike stranded colorwork, where yarn is carried across the back of the work, intarsia avoids long floats. At each colour change, the new yarn is twisted around the previous yarn to prevent gaps, creating a unique method for creating patterned fabrics like argyle, logos, or pictures. Learn how to knit this technique in this fun class!
