We are taking to the streets again to fight for our children’s future!This time we will be outside Lloyd's of London – one of the world’s largest insurers of fossil fuels.
Lloyd's insures fossil fuel projects that other insurers have dropped or refused to cover because of their colossal climate impacts, such as the Adani coal mine in Australia, the Trans Mountain tar sands pipeline in Canada and more.
Without insurance, such destructive coal, oil and gas projects could not go ahead.
So on Friday 18 June, we be will be outside Lloyd's’ headquarters in the City of London calling on them to stop their dangerous insurance – and insure our kids’ future instead. Join us!

THE ACTION
We will demonstrate outside Lloyd's of London, delivering giant flowers in oil and, ahead of Father’s Day, an oversized Father’s Day card to the Chair of Lloyd's, Bruce Carnegie-Brown.
We will relay a simple but critical message:
“Stop insuring dangerous fossil fuels projects and protect our children’s future and shared home. Insure our kids’ future!”.
We will be bold, determined and respectful. We will be heard. There will be chanting, singing and we hope that the giant pushchairs will make a comeback!
There will be a family-friendly atmosphere and many of us will bring our babies and toddlers.

WHEN, WHERE AND WHO?
We will meet outside the front of Lloyd's of London at 11am on Friday 18 June. We will have a marshal wearing high-vis who you will be able to check in with and who will be able to answer any questions that you may have when you arrive.
This action is for the mother and father who knows that climate breakdown remains a real threat to our children. It is for the parent who has had enough of feeling helpless. It is for the exhausted mum and for the determined mum. For the dad who can no longer bear the inaction of our government and big business. This is for the mama who may have never protested before, but whose love for her children will get her out onto the streets.
The action is organised by mums but it is for EVERYONE: dads, grandparents, uncles, aunties, friends and anyone that would like to join us and call on Lloyd's to insure our kids’ future!
Children are welcome! There is a large pedestrianised area outside the offices where we will stage the protest and this will be a great space for those bringing kids.

WHY IT WILL WORK (WE HOPE!)
Mothers Rise Up is joining a fantastic existing campaign, Insure Our Future, to put maximum and sustained pressure on Lloyds.
Over 30 organisations such as SumOfUs, 350, Rainforest Action Network, and UK Youth Climate Coalition are actively campaigning together. Groups have staged public actions outside the offices of Lloyds, launched petitions and written to Lloyds calling on them to drop their dirty insurance.
And as mums and parents, we bring our powerful voice. We will appeal to the Chair of Lloyds, Bruce Carnegie-Brown, as a dad to do what is right by his children and all of our children.
