InstaMeet Preston returns with a visit to the historic Masonic Hall in Saul Street.
About this Event

In 1944 the Freemasons of Preston purchased the 1832 Saul Street Primitive Methodist Chapel and the attached school building of 1866 and converted it into a Masonic Hall.

In the 1950s adjacent cottages and an old soap works were acquired and the site was redeveloped.

The current building is wrapped around the 1866 school, which is still used as a kitchen and one of the Lodge rooms. The building was rededicated in 1961 and has two craft Lodge rooms and a chapter room for Masonic meetings.

The Hall has a large ballroom and a number of alternative dining rooms, two of which are wooden panelled. Some of the Lodge furniture is over 150 years old.

This is a chance to explore all the history and tradition of the Masonic Hall, with Masons on hand to offer explanations.

The free event is taking place on Wednesday 30 March from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

There are limited spaces available, and tickets must be booked in advance here on Eventbrite.

We'll meet outside the main entrance. There is a large pay and display car park in front of the building.

The hashtag for the event is #instameetpreston.
