About this Event

Installation / Distillation - a marriage of Art and Whiskey
Join us for Installation / Distillation—a night celebrating passion and creativity in all its forms. We're turning the Shmidt Spirits distillery in Beltsville, Maryland, into an art space and marketplace where local artists and craftsmen can show off and sell their work to the community. Not only that, but we'll have live playing music all night long as well.
You can also expect free samples of Shmidt Spirits Distinctively Finished and Inkwell Whiskey craft spirits, which includes rye, bourbon, and gin. Bottles and craft cocktails will be available for sale, just like the other works of art on display.
ART
We are inviting local artists to apply to take over our distillery and turn it into their own private gallery. We'll be hosting between 10-12 artists of diverse backgrounds and mediums to come to show offf their creations either for appreciation or for sale.

MUSIC
We aren't just fans of visual art—music is an increibly important part of our lives. As such, we are planning on having live music, as we have in all past years. We will be announcing artists as we confirm their availability.

FOOD
As in years past, food will be available for purchase from our 5-time Installation/Distillation artist Katriel Menedez—the Argentine Chef. In years past he has brought delicious Tango Pasty and savory empanadas. This year may also see the return of choripan, a chorizo sausage sandiwch. This in addition to his signature spice blends from Nativo Spices.

WHISKEY
Installation/Distillation is the brainchild of master distiller Brian J. Roan, who is also the creative force behind Inkwell Whiskey. So we will be offering up delcious craft cocktails and samples of existing Inkwell and Shmidt Spirits varieties.
