Infusing entertainment with activism Dave UOG's mission is to empower others helping to raise awareness to listeners' greatest potential through music with profound lyricism. Hence the acronym in his stage name:

*****
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Tez The Philosopher is a name born from his second first name, Tesfazghi, meaning hope of god or blessings from the highest given to him by his mother. From 12, he wrote short stories and poetry, studying significant influences like Langston Hughes. He listens to 90s hip hop from his father, from Rakim, Wu-Tang Clan, and A tribe Called Quest being some of his other influences. He is looking to make his lane using his poetry background and philosophical lyrics to reel the audience to his head space.
Since his start, he has participated in several performances, notably the Coast2Coast competition, I Got the Power Showcase with affiliates from Power 105, and the Powerisindustry Unsigned Artist showcase hosted by Power 105.1FM. Tez has released several singles, notably “Dreams and Fantasy” and “Crush,” as well as his debut EP, “Confessions of a Kidult.”
Philosophical rappers like Tez want to bring their introspective lyrics and upbeat, high-energy stage presence into their diary rap. They also want to open people up to self-awareness for the society around them and provide comfort that they're not alone in this fast-paced world. They also want to inspire everyone to live their authentic truth and unapologetically live from their individual heart space.
