About this Event
The West Coast Symphony Orchestra welcomes you to a night of vibrant and evocative music inspired by the rich, cultural tapestry of Spain. We will journey through passionate rhythms and haunting melodies that will make it hard not to jump to your feet, dance, and yell, "Ole!". Partnering with the orchestra is dynamic Canadian classical guitarist, Stanton Jack*, who will be playing a cornerstone of the Spanish repertoire, Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. Prepare to be transported to a world where every note tells a story of tradition, romance, and celebration and let the music whisk you away to the heart of Spain.
Program:
Manuel de Falla: Spanish Dance No.1 from ' La Vida Breve '
Arturo Márquez: Danzón No. 2
Joaquín Rodrigo: Concierto de Aranjuez*
Maurice Ravel: Alborada del Gracioso
Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov: Capriccio Espagnol, Op 34
Financially, the orchestra relies on the generosity of audience members to offset concert and overhead costs, which average $35 per person per concert. The suggested donation of $30 per person can be contributed through Eventbrite on the next page.
