A 2-day event for DF practitioners to test novel tools in a dynamic, high-impact scenario
About this Event

Dear all,

We are pleased to invite expressions of interest from digital forensic practitioners to participate in InsideX 2025, a collaborative research and innovation event that will be focused on Advanced Data Analytics in Digital Forensic Investigations.

The event will be hosted at the University of Southampton in January 2026. Specific dates will be provided soon.

Inside X is a Home Office-funded initiative and this year it will be delivered by the , in partnership with the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), Forensic Capability Network (FCN), and the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC).

This innovation event aims to generate new knowledge, identify capability gaps, and inform future strategies for digital forensics in law enforcement. It will bring together DF practitioners, academic experts, and private sector innovators to explore emerging technologies that can enhance operational outcomes and improve technical capabilities across policing.

Previous InsideX events have successfully explored topics such drone forensics and artificial intelligence in digital forensic investigations, providing valuable insights and fostering collaboration across the community.
