About this Event
On the first Thursday of every month‚ the galleries of DUMBO stay open late, hosting special events and receptions for the First Thursday Gallery Walk. Attendees are encouraged to visit participating First Thursday galleries at their own pace.
This month's event will include: An introduction to two exhibitions currently on view at Smack Mellon, featuring work by Mie Yim and Avram Finkelstein; then we'll take in works by Juan Jose Cielo and Leonardo Madriz featured by the DUMBO Projection Project in collaboration with Smack Mellon and the Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program. Coinciding with Smack Mellon’s 30th anniversary year, and a decade of the Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program, Volume 5 of the DUMBO Projection Project is an exploration of space – what it means to be in a space, to have a space, to be part of a space, and even to be in space. The Insider's Tour will visit three outdoor projections, featuring introductions with artists Juan Jose Cielo and Leonardo Madriz.
