Join us in creating a Kaleidoscopic swarm of curious beasties at community creative workshops at Fornighty Hall .The insects you create from willow and tissue paper will join a host of Arthropods for a buzzing parade at the Nairn Book and Arts Festival on Sunday 8th September.
We will create a unique, bright and fun community created art installation at Fornighty Hall for all to enjoy. There will be plenty of time to make more than 1 insect to give the option of taking your very own creations home too.
The workshops are open from 10am to 5pm each day and you are welcome to drop in for as long as you wish, creating as many beasties as desired. Feel free to book as many sessions as you'd like. Please allow a minimum of 2 hours for 1 insect.
Snacks will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
Open to all. Children are welcome for free. A donation of £10 for adults is suggested.
We will be working with environmentally friendly materials like willow from Naturally Useful, tissue paper, tape, paint and glue.
Many insects are special to us here in East Nairnshire. We will be learning all about these amazing, beneficial wee creatures and hope to share ways in which we can help support our local insect heroes by looking after our local environment and raising awareness.
This project has been made possible with kind help from ENCOMM and is in partnership with Nairn Book and Arts Festival, Fornighty Hall and Naturally Useful.
