Led by entomology specialists, each monthly insect hike will have a different theme. This month's hike will be a prep for the Texas Pollinator Bioblitz that will be held in October.Participation is open to the public, all ages welcome. Wear appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes are recommended. Some trails may be muddy following recent rains.
In the event of rain or inclement weather the hike will be cancelled.
Where: Meet in the main parking lot of Seabourne Creek Nature Park by the public restrooms by 9:00am.
If you’d like to help contribute to Community/Citizen Science while on the hike, have the iNaturalist or Seek by iNaturalist (for younger users) application downloaded on your smartphone. Not familiar with iNaturalist? Texas Master Naturalists from the Coastal Prairie Chapter will be on hand to assist you.
Directions: The park is located at 3831 TX-36, Rosenberg, TX 77471 across from the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds. Enter the park from HWY 36 just south of I-69 and adjacent to the Rosenberg Civic Center. Look for the brown wooden park entrance sign next to the Civic Center building. Turn onto Stanley Kucherka Drive and proceed to the parking lot .3 miles on the left.
Insect Hikes occur on the 4th Thursday of each month.
