Digital Dairy Chain along with partners University of Strathclyde and Skillfluence are launching an inspiring programme to encourage young people in the farming community to develop their innovative ideas that could help improve dairy farming across the country. We are inviting young farmers, even if you don’t have dairy farm experience, to join the programme which will support them to develop their own innovative ideas for the industry but also give them skills such as idea creation, development, and pitching. The young people will work alongside researchers from University of Strathclyde, SRUC and University of The West of Scotland (UWS) to make their ideas a reality and pitch them at the Scottish Association of Young Farmer’s Club Agriculture and Rural Affairs Conference in November in front of peers and a panel of industry experts and business leaders.
The winning pitch will receive £250 of Amazon vouchers, and not only that, but any of the pitches could also be taken forward by our Innovation Broker team and developed into a real research project with a grant of up to £10,000 if it could have real application in the dairy industry.
The launch event will take place in The Social Hub, Glasgow City Centre on 25th September (lunch included), 10.30am - 2.30pm, and we welcome all young people that feel they might have what it takes to come along and be inspired by what Digital Dairy Chain is achieving.
