"Inheriting Freedom & Emerging Activists: A Family Tour and Craftivist Workshop," a dynamic, family-friendly event held on the third Saturday of the month, May through August, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Stowe Center, 77 Forest Street, Hartford, CT.
This engaging program combines an interactive, conversational history tour about the lives and writing of 19th-century Black abolitionist Frederick Douglass and the anti-slavery writer Harriet Beecher Stowe with empowering, hands-on art activities designed to help visitors showcase their own vision for a better world. The Stowe Center hopes that Inheriting Freedom will encourage conversations about freedom, justice, and activism between visitors of all ages.

EMERGING ACTIVISTS
A free, interactive series where children and youth can participate in arts and crafts, hands-on activities, and storytelling sessions featuring impactful literature. Ideal for children aged 5 and above, tweens, and teens; each session aims to foster creativity and social awareness among young participants.

INHERITING FREEDOM: AN INTERGENERATIONAL TOUR
The Inheriting Freedom sparks conversations about justice for all ages that weave the stories of abolitionists like Frederick Douglass and Anna Murray Douglass. Explore Harriet Beecher Stowe’s legacy in the context of 19th century activist efforts emphasizing love, family, and freedom.

Admission: $10 for Youth, $15 for Seniors, $20 for General Admission
