About this Event

*Please Note - this information session is intended for people living with Brain Injury and their caregivers.

David (Dave) Fiege is a seasoned social worker, crisis counsellor, and advisor with George Brown College’s Augmented Education Program. He has been working in the social services field since 1997, bringing decades of experience supporting individuals and communities through education and practical skill-building.In addition to his social work background, Dave has 19 years of experience in the culinary field, including running a food program, and over 10 years as a food safety trainer. He combines real-world kitchen expertise with clear, accessible teaching to make food safety and home food preparation practical and easy to understand.

Dave will be facilitating an 8-session course in food safety and home food preparation designed to increase participants’ cooking skills, life skills, confidence, and social connection through accessible, hands-on workshops.

Meet Dave at the information session on January 22, 2026, from 1:30–3:00 PM, at 205–40 St. Clair Avenue East.



The Brain Injury Society of Toronto (BIST) enhances the lives of people living with the effects of brain injury.

Membership for Brain Injury Survivors costs $5 a year and can be waived if this fee is a barrier.
