The Introduction to Construction Trades course provides training in fundamental skills required for success in the construction industry. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on practice, participants will develop essential knowledge and proficiency in safety, math, hand and power tools, construction drawings, rigging, communication, employability, and material handling. This introductory non-credit course consists of 144 instructional hours and is geared towards enhancing attendees’ skillsets, knowledge, and employability within the Construction Trades.Completers will be given the opportunity to obtain the following certifications,
including but not limited to:
• NCCER CORE
• OSHA 10
• Ladder Safety & Fall Prevention
• Basic First Aid & CPR
This 8-week (NO COST) program runs from October 21st - December 12th 20204, Monday - Thursday, 5 PM to 9 PM.
NO COST for residents of Erie County, pending
acceptance and commitment to the program. All necessary
tools and course materials will be provided.
