About this Event
The Creative Sector Pathway Program is designed to provide hands-on, real-world, tool, technique, and machine training, workforce development, and apprenticeships to people ages 16-24. CSPP is broken into two distinct pieces: Training and Creative Exploration and Apprenticeships. CSPP takes place over two semesters over the course of a year.
During the first semester of the program, all CSPP participants attend five hours per week of hands-on experiential education in tools and machine training and entrepreneurship to prepare them for creative workforce opportunities or business launches. During the training and exploration phase, participants work to mastery in specific shops and are offered facilitated out of class time using their LaunchSpace memberships to immerse themselves in our 13,000 sq.ft. facility. LaunchSpace encourages all participants to use this time to pursue their passion, deepen their techniques, and find their unique voice.
With the creative training and leadership experiences under their belt, CSPP participants are carefully matched with a curated list of apprenticeships. Apprenticeships serve to deepen connections to the creative community, continue to master skills and provide real world workforce skills.
CSPP includes a badge and certificate system all badges are verifiable and quantifiable across businesses and build foundational to mastery skills in each area.
Working with our dedicated Program Coordinator, each participant collaboratively develops an individual service plan identifying a step by step path to the achievement of career/educational goals. The assessment includes questions about educational background and goals, career background and goals, mental health needs, physical health needs, and a list of additional available services provided by our coalition of community partners. Using this assessment tool, CSPP provides complete wrap around services for participants and develops and implements individualized plans.
LaunchSpace warmly serves youth ages 16-24 of all gender identities, ethnicities and races who may feel disengaged and/or disconnected from education and employment pathways to success. We welcome participants of all educational backgrounds. CSSP actively works to ensure access for youth of color, youth who are LGBTQIA+, disabled, current and former foster youth, on probation or from low-income households, as well as others who experience barriers to participation in the workforce.
We are hosting info sessions for participants, families and community organizations to come and tour the makerspace and hear more about the program at LaunchSpace on the third Thursday of each month from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
