Industrial photography is a photographic niche that perfectly fits with the history of the city of Liverpool and with its landscape. In this meetup, I will show the participants how to find interesting views and compositions whilst immersed in the landscape of the North Dock with industrial photography. You can use buildings and other man-made structures in the same way other photographers use trees and rolling hills in landscape photography. Wind farms, harbours, cement works, power stations, quarries, pylons, and building sites are just a few of the industrial landscapes you can photograph. The Liverpool docks are the perfect setting for this kind of photography meetup. We will be starting with an overview of landscape photography techniques, how to decide what to take a picture of, and how to compose shots. We will then move into settings and more technical challenges to get an idea of when the camera behaves best for landscapes.
