About this Event
Heating accounts for about 37% of total UK carbon emissions. This workshop will bring together all of the current research associated with the decarbonisation of industrial heating and cooling and assess the policies and technologies available to achieve the transition to netzero industry in the UK.
Aims of the Workshop
This one day workshop will bring together researchers from the EPSRC Network+ Decarbonisation of Heating and Cooling and the Industrial Decarbonisation and Research & Innovation Centre to showcase the latest technologies, economics and policy innovations and will cover:
· Electrification
· Emerging technologies
· Thermal energy storage
· Opportunities for the adaptation of existing infrastructure to carbon-free fuels
· Policy landscapes
· Skills and training needs
· Future investment models
· District and micro-scale heat networks
Workshop Outputs:
- An overview of all funded EPSRC industrial heat research
- Policy development around Industrial Heat
- Identification of future research
- Networking and new contacts
- Showcasing of NZIC and the Teesside Cluster
- Establish a forum/group for Industrial Heat research?
This workshop is part of a programme of events organised by Network H+C with the aim of collective advancement of science, engineering and technology combined with planning, demand management and effective policy
