Indoor FoxesScottish born singer and songwriter, shares her new EP ‘Sadolescence’ with lead single ‘Manic’ released in October 2024. It follows the release from the melodic, ‘Church Music’ and the deeply captivating ‘‘White Rabbit’ which received support from Emily Pilbeam at BBC Radio 6 and Phoebe Inglis-Holme and Stephanie Cheap at BBC Introducing. In her own words, “The Sadolescence EP feels really kaleidoscopic for me. I feel like each song captures a fragment of me, and who I am, and what I love. I’m trying to carry you through my emotional motherboard and show you a little bit of everything. It was really important to me not to just present a listener or consumer with a small and specific element of me. In writing this EP I was doing a lot of exploration of self, and trying to figure out who I am. A huge part of that has been acknowledging how varied and unbalanced I am, and how many bits there are to me, and how much a whole person is made up of. It would feel dismissive of that journey, and dishonest to present just one part of that. Especially as an introduction.”
Bringing girlhood into the Scottish rock tradition, Indoor Foxes addresses feelings of girlhood in her music and lyrically navigates her experience of it, “I like to be able to rage at pain and not shy away from that. We get to be angry when we’re hurt, and we get to be afraid. I like addressing these perceived humiliations… I still feel a bit like a little girl on the inside a lot, making loud guitar-forward music gives me that freedom to be a truly angry young woman.” It’s set to be a big year for Indoor Foxes. Currently writing with Ross Leighton of Fatherson and working with producer Jamie Holmes (Joesef and Gerry Cinnamon), Indoor Foxes is determined to keep her music as big and honest as possible. Cited as one to watch by Wide Days and with support from Tenement TV, SNACK, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6.
SLIX
Hailing from Gourock, on Scotland’s west coast, SLIX have developed into a well-honed, energetic live act since their 2022 alternative indie debut ep, Jingle Jangle. At home they have built a solid foundation thanks to their compelling live shows, performing at TRNSMT in 2023 and selling out Glasgow’s 600-capacity St Luke’s venue in March 2024. They are also one of the only acts to have been booked two years running to showcase at Wide Days.
They were the winners of the Best Live Act at 2024's Scottish Alternative Music Awards. Media coverage has been equally diverse, highlighting the band’s crossover appeal. It includes Scotland on Sunday, DIY, Clash, BBC Radio 1, Radio Scotland, Tenement TV, Mondo Sonoro and even Metal Hammer’s Spanish edition. Moreover, their track "With You" was synced on UK reality TV show Made In Chelsea and their recent cover of Abba's "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" amassed over 400k views online.
“SLIX are the sort of guitar band you have secretly been longing for, but now the secret is out, it only makes sense to own it.” Clash.
