Indigitous #HACK, our global missional hackathon, returns again this October. Join us at #HACK2021 to make an impact for God in your city by working on projects of missional importance.
The hackathon will take place in Auckland on October 22-24.
Whether you are a developer, designer, project manager, marketing specialist, church leader, or anyone else who wants to do missional work, God can use your unique talents and perspectives.
This is a great opportunity to work with like-minded people on projects that can make a real impact in God's kingdom.
Come and bring your computer and any other technical gear you plan on using.
----------------------------------------
We have two projects available to join in Auckland this year:
Jesus Film
---------------
There are 12 key countries which represent 75% of the global population who don’t yet know someone that knows Jesus. We believe there is a huge digital opportunity to connect these people with the hope of Jesus. Currently we are building a platform to aid journey builders create engaging experiences to help people place themselves on a scale of belief, then taking the next best step to help them make an informed decision about following Jesus or telling others about him.
For #HACK there are two opportunities:
- Marketing & Outreach (Non-technical) - Build a journey using the platform and release it on social media. Provide feedback to the Jesus Film team on what things you’d like the platform to do in future.
- Development (Typescript) - Build a component to extend the platform’s block library allowing journey builders to do new things
Christmas Drivethru
----------------------------
Every year Northcross Church runs a Christmas drivethru event where hundreds of cars drive through a live re-enactment of the Christmas story in the church carpark. This is a key event that the church runs to engage with the neighbourhood with the story of Jesus, and people have the opportunity to come in to the church and chat on the nights when the drivethru is running. Cars are lined up on the road outside for sometimes more than half an hour waiting to enter. There is potential to use a digital strategy to increase engagement with those in their cars, especially while they are waiting in the queue.
The brief for this project is to use Augmented Reality (AR) to create an experience to complement the live experience that is already being run. There is also the possibility of using this AR experience to drive a social media campaign leading up the week of the event.
Skills desired: Graphic design/3D modelling, social media marketing
----------------------------------------
#HACK will take place at the Tandem Ministry offices in Albany. Refreshments will be provided throughout the weekend. For those outside of Auckland, there is an opportunity to join remotely. If we are in Level 3 or 4 on the dates of #HACK the event will shift to an entirely online event.
