Come to our 32nd Annual Indigenous Peoples Day PowWow in October! - Auspiciously, the date this year is the 12th: the date of the original Federal "Columbus Day" - now reclaimed as a day of celebration of Native Cultures of the Americas, traditional crafts by Native Artists, identity and pride.Indigenous Peoples Day originated in Berkeley and celebrated its first PowWow in 1992 in collaboration with the City of Berkeley and honoring the ancient Kichwa legend from the Andes that prophesized that when the People of the Condor and the People of the Eagle came together, peace would follow. In that spirit, we bring together our peoples.
Also honored are Pacific Islanders and First Nations peoples of Canada.
Vendors of Native crafts may contact me for an application or go directly online to our website at <http:>.</http:>
