Join us at Gold Vibe for a special evening in support of the California Heritage: Indigenous Research Project (CHIRP) and the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribe (NCRNT), with special guests Vox Musica. Explore the work CHIRP and NCRNT have been doing through informational tables and presentations. This event will be a film screening of past Vox Musica Choral Performances and a discussion with Tribal Spokesperson Shelly Covert and Daniel I. Paulson, Founder and Music Director of Vox Musica. The unique cultural collaboration began in 2016 when the NCRNT shared their Tribal songs with Vox Musica, a women’s vocal ensemble from Sacramento, sparking a powerful musical partnership. Their evolving project, "We Are, We Have, We Live," tells the story of the Tribe through music and film. This event celebrates the Nisenan Tribe’s rich history, culture, and ongoing fight for federal recognition.
