INDIES BY THE DECADEJoin host and indie film fan, Glen Haley, as we revisit the best of independent film from various decades. We kick off our series with the 2000s. This decade brought us iconic work from Sophia Coppola, Alexander Payne, and Wes Anderson, introduced us to the feature film directorial debut of Gina Prince-Bythewood, and reminded us of the quirky genius of Michel Gondry.
Haley will lead a pre-film discussion, so arrive early and experience some of the best in independent film. Complimentary movie snacks will be provided.

Two men reaching middle age with not much to show but disappointment embark on a week-long road trip through California’s wine country, just as one is about to take a trip down the aisle. Directed by Alexander Payne.

BE KIND REWIND
Two bumbling store clerks inadvertently erase the footage from all of the tapes in their video rental store. In order to keep the business running, they re-shoot every film in the store with their own camera, with a budget of zero dollars. Directed by Michel Gondry.

FANTASTIC MR. FOX
An urbane fox cannot resist returning to his farm raiding ways and then must help his community survive the farmers’ retaliation. Directed by Wes Anderson.
