‼️SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT‼️I Heart Local Music and The Granada are joining forces to bring the early 2000s indie rock revival to Mass Street with “Indie Rewind: A Y2K Tribute Concert,” a one-night community event honoring the era when The Strokes, The White Stripes, and more shaped the soundtrack of a generation.
The free, all-ages show takes place Saturday, January 10, at 6:00 p.m. at The Granada, and is made possible through generous support from Tom Harper, Third Planet, and Love Garden Sounds.
“Indie Rewind: A Y2K Tribute Concert” will showcase a lineup of local bands performing full tribute sets to some of the era’s most influential artists:
⚫ Mickey Mouse Slaughterhouse performing The Ting Tings
⚫ The Sluts performing The White Stripes
⚫ Hello Biplane performing Yeah Yeah Yeahs
⚫ Oxytoxin performing The Hives
⚫ The Fun Guy performing The Strokes
The night will also include drag performances by Southern Hxll and Kansas Campbell, bringing a Y2K-era pop twist to the stage.
Beyond the music, the event will feature a themed photo booth, a costume contest, and local vendors highlighting Lawrence’s creative community.
