Did you know that you can travel on roads with bicycle improvements, multimodal paths, and trails the entire way from downtown Indiana, PA to downtown Ebensburg, PA?
Experience the beauty of the Ghost Town and Hoodlebug Trails on this inaugural Seat to Seat Bike Ride. Natural beauty, fascinating historical features, and local culture make this a ride you won’t want to miss. Join us for this first-ride of what is sure to be a great annual event and kickoff to the fall season!
Ride begins at 10:00am at the Young Peoples Community Center (YPCC) Trailhead (424 Prave Street, Ebensburg, PA). Ride 32-miles on the Ghost Town Trail to Saylor Park in Burrell Township (1284 Old Indiana Rd, Black Lick, PA). Continue 12 miles on the Hoodlebug Trail and Extension to downtown Indiana, PA. Total ride length is approximately 44 miles. Sustenance stations with water, snacks and first aid kits will be available at Dilltown and Saylor Park.
$35.00 registration gets you one-way shuttle service (if desired) from Indiana to Ebensburg on the morning of the ride and a long sleeve T-shirt. Register by 9/8 to guarantee your shirt.
For the shuttle service, bikes must be left in Ebensburg prior, at the starting point. Overnight storage drop off is available from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday (9/19), morning drop off starts at 7:30am (9/20). Shuttle leaves at 9:00am from the Hoodlebug Trail Extension Trailhead at the Indiana Borough lot located at 8th and Church Streets.
Bike rentals are available at the starting point from the YPCC, including two e-bikes, but rented bikes must also be returned to the YPCC. Contact them at 814-472-4277 to make arrangements.
Discounted hotel rooms are available at the Ramada by Wyndham, the Hilton Garden Inn, and the Quality Inn in Indiana. Inquire about the "Seat to Seat Ride" room blocks or visit our event page for info.
There is still opportunity for sponsorship. Proceeds benefit the Cambria and Indiana (C&I) Trail Council.
