Head massage has been practised in India and throughout Asia for well over one thousand years. Originally women used the techniques to keep their long hair in a strong and healthy condition.
This treatment is an excellent stress buster and is a highly effective therapeutic massage of the scalp neck shoulders and face. The nerve endings are also stimulated and acupressure points are worked which can release stress throughout your body and re-balance your energy levels. This extremely fast working and effective massage is performed sitting in a chair and oil can be used if preferred. This is a great massage treatment to give "tasters" at Mind Body Soul shows just working on a chair.
During the course day you will be taken through a recap on the Anatomy contra-indications & cautions then practical practise throughout the rest of the day. The massage sequence is broken down into small steps and you will have the chance to give and receive the treatment through the day. Refreshments are provided through the day and at lunch. Please bring your own lunch. You will be provided with a full manual to take home with you and a laminated sheet with shortened notes to practise.
If you are qualified in massage or NVQ level 3 equivalent beauty therapist you will receive a Practitioners Certificate and you can add this versitile treatment to your therapies. You can also just attend if you are looking to just practice on friends and family. If you would like to work towards becoming a practitioner with no previous massage qualification you will be required to attend two further training sessions (taught one to one) perform some case studies enjoy one catch up session half way through your case studies and have a final run through assessment with your tutor within 8 months of your course date (addtional £35). Usually hosted on Sundays but you can learn with a friend and weekday dates can be organised over 2-4 weekly sessions
