Cowpoke is a unique quartet that performs an eclectic mix of originals and covers, spanning many genres like country, folk, pop, and rock. Blues and jazz elements also permeate throughout each set, as the band draws its sound from an encyclopedia of musical influences. Cowpoke’s music transforms familiar tunes into something distinct and current. Kal, founder and frontman of Cowpoke, has put together an elite group of musicians. Kal is known for his amazingly distinct voice as well as being a gifted songwriter. Kal has studied guitar privately, and has been live performing for nearly a decade.
Brian, on saxophones, is a music teacher, performer, and composer with over 15 years of experience. Brian is professionally trained with a bachelor’s degree in music composition from Shepherd University and a master’s degree in music composition from Columbia College Chicago.
Eric, on bass, intrinsically has always felt the beat of music never veering away from the rhythm section having started on drums. His musical journey is a humble one having played mostly in church settings and recording his own covers.
Sawyer, on drums, is a freelance musician performing with several groups in the tri-state area within multiple genres. Sawyer is professionally trained with a bachelors degree in music education from Shepherd University.
