Drum Play Shop- 6 to 7 pmDrum Circle- 7:30 - 9:30 pm
“Let’s play together! All you need is a heartbeat to share in this drum playshop.” - Sundance
Sundance will teach basic hand drumming techniques inspired by the traditional rhythms of West Africa, Cuba, Brazil, and beyond. We will explore the magic of the first form of communication, drum language. Most importantly, we will be encouraged to share our own unique rhythm. You do not need any experience drumming, only a desire to listen to your heartbeat, and the courage to share it with your community. Drums will be provided for those just beginning their relationship to the drum.
Sundance found his path to the drum in 1990, while desiring to give more to his drum circle community. He has traveled to Senegal, Guinea, Brazil, Jamaica, and Egypt, in search of where this powerful music comes from, and the spiritual meanings within these traditions. Sunny discovered the true magic in the free form expression of the community drum circle, and has facilitated drum circles around the world at music festivals, churches, in schools, for business team building seminars, and music therapy at retirement communities.
The true drummer’s path comes from within,
“Listen to your own heartbeat, and find your heart song!” Let’s explore together!” - Sundance
